About
What is the Oak Marr Community? The Oak Marr Community is all of us who call Oak Marr home. We are many and we elect a few each year to make the decisions involved in running our community and maintaining the values that make Oak Marr what it is. But in the end, it is all of us who are responsible for building, beautifying and enhancing our Community and its values.
Join Us!
We hope you will join with all of us who have contributed to enhance the Oak Marr common areas. Some of the projects we accomplished in 2014 include the restoration of the mail kiosks and gazebos. Looking ahead, what we need to accomplish short term is the repair of dangerous sidewalks. While we require the funds be allocated by the Board for many projects, there are also those that we can accomplish with just a few volunteers on a Saturday morning. Some of those recent projects include clearing overgrown areas of the pond, rerouting the path to the woods at the top of Elm Top Court around the area that floods with every rainstorm, and straightening the light poles that have tilted over the years. In the spring of 2015 we hope to begin work to bring the pond's riparian buffer up to the design plan submitted by our pond management company, Solitude. Although the Oak Marr Community group is formally unaffiliated with the Oak Marr Courts Homeowners Association Board of Directors we work with the Board of Directors to offer homeowners an opportunity to communicate the community's needs and desires to the Board. We will also offer up assistance in such areas as doing the leg, or phone and e-mail work, on projects. We also envision a core group who may help with physical projects such as minor repairs, landscaping and beautification projects. This is an informal group. Participate at whatever level you would like or not at all. Follow what's going on in the community via this Web site, Oakmarr.nextdoor.com, or our e-mail newsletter, offer up suggestions, volunteer for a project. Let's Work Together!
